Part-time IT Lead

You have IT decisions to make, but nobody who really understands them and stands on your side. I am that person, 1–2 days a week.

A part-time IT lead is your company’s technical decision-maker, interpreter and advocate.

I tie every IT cost to a business goal, speak to developers and vendors in their language, and roll out change so that people actually use the new systems. You get senior expertise for a flexible monthly fee, without payroll taxes, recruitment or a long employment contract.

  • IT landscape review: systems, costs, contracts and risks
  • 12-month IT roadmap with budget and ROI
  • Procurement requirements and a like-for-like comparison of quotes
  • Vendor and developer management with quality control
  • A short monthly report for management: what was done, what it cost, what comes next

Examples

Typical situations and how I'd handle them

Manufacturer, 60 employees

An ERP tender that stayed on track

Problem

There are three ERP quotes on the table between 40 and 120 thousand euros and nobody in-house can compare them.

Solution

Rewriting the requirements, collecting new quotes on equal terms, vendor demos with control questions and negotiation.

Result

The decision is made on facts and the budget stays within plan.

Growing e-commerce, 15 employees

Five vendors, zero overview

Problem

A developer, a host, a marketing agency and two SaaS tools bill separately and nobody owns the big picture.

Solution

One person who knows every system, keeps in touch with the vendors, sets clear responsibilities and gathers the costs into one sheet.

Result

One point of contact and a monthly view of where the IT money goes.

What's included

What I do as part of this service

An IT roadmap that starts from business goals

I map your current systems, costs and risks and build a 12-month plan where every investment has a calculated return.

An interpreter and advocate on your side

I deal with developers, vendors and partners, check quotes and quality, and keep the budget under control.

Change that people actually adopt

A new system is only worth as much as it is used. I listen, train and adjust until it works.

Senior level at a flexible cost

1–2 days a week for an agreed monthly fee. No payroll taxes, no recruitment, no months of onboarding.

Procurement without surprises

Requirements, tender documents and a like-for-like comparison of quotes, so you get what you pay for.

Why an IT lead

Six reasons a company needs an IT lead, just not a full-time one

Most companies with 10–100 people do not need a full-time IT lead. They do need someone who makes IT decisions right.

  • Strategy and roadmap

IT spending is tied to business goals. Every investment is justified, timed and has a calculated return.

  • Interpreter and advocate

I stand up for your interests with developers, vendors and partners. I check quality and guard the budget.

  • Human-centred change

Technology is only worth something if people use it. I roll out change with the team, not over their heads.

  • Senior level, flexible cost

An experienced IT lead 1–2 days a week for a monthly fee. A full-time IT lead would cost 5,000–8,000 € a month plus payroll taxes.

  • Fewer risks

Contracts, access rights, backups and security are someone’s responsibility instead of being left to chance.

  • Management gets time back

No more arguing with vendors or decoding quotes yourself. You get a short monthly report and make the calls.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is an IT lead different from IT support?

IT support fixes computers and resets passwords. An IT lead decides which systems you need at all, how much they may cost and how they help the business.

How much does it cost?

We agree a monthly fee based on scope, usually 1–2 days a week. It is a fraction of the 5,000–8,000 € monthly cost of a full-time IT lead, without payroll taxes or recruitment.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. We agree the scope and review it every quarter. If your needs grow or shrink, we change the scope.

Do you also do development yourself?

Yes, when it makes sense. But as your IT lead my first job is to decide right, not to sell myself work. If someone else is a better fit, I will say so.

How do we start?

With a free consultation. You tell me what hurts and I tell you honestly whether an IT lead will help or a one-off IT decision audit is enough.
